ARTIST'S COMMENTARY

The blue diptych, which was the last of the Lima hotel paintings, shows some resolution in the technique and visual description, I think.
I kind of pushed the contrast at the top, making reference to weaving, while developing the character of the three Mountains in front, which are in a, sort of, 'family group.'
The smaller two mountains are separated from the larger one by being on the opposite piece of paper. Personally, I also had been separated from the woman I had been living with in New York, the Japanese dancer Mariko Higuchi, and her daughter, Picca, by the advent of my travels, and was missing them both.
