ARTIST'S COMMENTARY

On a visit to the enormous Temple of the Sun and Temple of the Moon at the ancient ruins site outside of Mexico City, called "Teotihuacan", I saw how man will imitate the mountains.
From the top of the enormous Temple of the Sun, one views the distant volcano, Popocatepital.
Standing on the remains of a great culture, so ancient that the Aztecs had no memory of it's people, one is reminded that, no matter how great the human mind conceptualizes, and acts out the human imagination, everything we have ever done or could do will always be dwarfed by nature.
This painting was inspired by Teotihuacan.
